My full name is Margaret Rose Young, and I am a Brit living in Johannesburg, South Africa. My friends and family call me Margy for short.
My Mum and Dad were extremely creative folks. Mum was an artist, and Dad was a writer for the SABC. They must have handed down the itch for creativity to me. Art, photography and writing became my passion at an early age, and I was fortunate enough to be able to spend thirteen years as a freelance professional writer for graphic magazines while my children were growing up. After taking early retirement from a very restrictive office job, I developed a love and passion for making jewelry and for creating abstract, digital and impressionist art.
I opened my Etsy shop, KergieCreations, in May 2014 and my enthusiasm has grown with the sales, and the encouraging feedbacks from my very valued customers. I find the global interaction very stimulating because it pushes the boat!
I now spend most of my day (and evenings) looking for new ideas, improving the items on my site, and creating what I believe my customers may appreciate.
I am still new to the business, and I am so grateful to both customers and sellers who have taken the time to send me reviews and suggest new ways of doing things. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT!
My main aim is to grow my shop and introduce new ideas. So please, all suggestions are very welcome. The joy is that I’ve finally discovered what I LOVE doing. I firmly believe in those lyrics from that famous song – “Find Your Passion and Make It Happen.” I know that if you take the risk do what you love, rather than the “ 9-5 Have To Do Job”, you will never look back if you persevere for excellence.
I am particularly grateful to my loyal customers from all over the world for repeatedly visiting my shop – these are the people who keep me going with their encouragement and praise. THANK YOU! And that’s why I will go the extra mile to please MY WONDERFUL ETSY CUSTOMERS.
"MY CUSTOMERS COME FIRST" – that is my mission statement.
