Jewelry has the power to tell stories, evoke emotions, and create lasting connections. Following the death of my parents, I realized that life is short and we need to do what we love every single day. I love making things! All the things, but mostly jewelry. While it's only part-time now, I'm hoping to semi-retire in a few years and make it full time.... wish me luck.
A lot of the items in my store are keepsake and support focused that were born out of the desire to create a meaningful gift for someone in my life. Of course, choosing the perfect keepsake is a personal and meaningful decision, so I have multiple customization options and strive to provide exceptional customer service every step of the way (message me if you have an idea or want changes to any of the listings). All of the handmade items are made and assembled by me, in my little studio.
I call my studio "The Happy Chickery", it's the heartbeat of my creative world where rules are traded for pure imagination. Inspired by the organic textures of nature and an unapologetic obsession with bold color, this is a space dedicated to the simple act of making something joyful every single day. Whether I’m making a gemstone memorial bracelet gift or getting messy with paint and mixed media, everything created there is a celebration of creative freedom. I believe life is too short to stick to just one niche or use just one color crayon, so you might find a rotating collection of handmade goods designed to spark a little extra swagger in your step and a lot of joy in your soul.
Think of Kerry Best Designs as the home for my finished work, and The Happy Chickery as the place where the magic (and the mess!) happens. :-))
At the moment, Kerry Best Designs is a one-woman show. I handle everything from designing to sourcing materials and crafting each item by hand (except for some of the charms and pendants that are sourced, mostly from Italy). Over the years, I've honed my ability to identify the finest materials available at reasonable prices. My ultimate goal is to craft distinct, timeless pieces from top-notch materials without breaking the bank.
