Returned Artist Trying To Make the Dream Work!
J’avais l’habitude de dessiner tout le temps. À l’école primaire, les projets artistiques étaient ma partie préférée de la classe, et j’ai remporté de nombreux prix à la foire annuelle du comté de San Diego. Au lycée, je suis allé un peu plus loin et j’ai construit un portfolio dans un cours d’ART AP Studio, et j’avais les yeux rivés sur une école d’art pour apprendre le graphisme pour la publicité et la conception Web.
Mais la réalité a frappé (et un peu de parentalité asiatique), et j’ai poursuivi une majeure universitaire axée sur les affaires à la place. J’ai commencé ma carrière dans le marketing numérique après avoir obtenu mon diplôme et j’ai oublié mon travail créatif.
Mais récemment, alors que j’étais occupé à analyser les données pour mon dernier rapport d’analyse Web et de ventes, j’ai réalisé: « Hé, je veux toujours être un artiste ».
Comment? Par où commencer? Qu’est-ce que je créerais ?
Je m’inspire de tant de choses – la typographie, le lettrage à la main, la typographie, l’aquarelle, l’artisanat, la photographie (juste le début de ma liste). Je ne savais pas par où commencer, mais je savais que je devais faire quelque chose.
Alors me voici. Kimposé. Je veux créer quelque chose, n’importe quoi, et le partager avec vous. Si cela devient quelque chose de plus grand plus tard, tant mieux! Sinon, au moins j’ai essayé.

I used to draw all the time. In grade school, art projects were my favorite part of class, and I won many awards at San Diego’s annual county fair. In high school, I took it a step further and built out a portfolio in an AP Studio Art class, and had my eyes set on an art school to learn graphic design for advertising and web design.
But reality hit (and a bit of Asian parenting), and I pursued a business-oriented college major instead. I started my career in digital marketing after graduating, and forgot about my creative work.
But recently, while I was busy data crunching for my latest web analytics and sales report, I realized, “Hey, I still want to be an artist”.
How? Where to start? What would I even create?
I’m inspired by so many things – typography, hand lettering, letterpress, watercolor, crafting, photography (just the start of my list). I didn’t know where to start, but I knew I had to do something.
So here I am. Kimposed. I want to create something, anything, and share it with you. If this becomes something bigger later, great! If not, at least I tried.
