We are a husband and wife team who strive to give our customers quality personalized gifts at an affordable price.
We are Josh and Julie a non traditional military family. Julie is the Soldier and Josh runs the Homefront. We have been married for over 23 years. Together we have been handmade creators for over 2 decades each. Josh started doing wood working at a fairly young age and Julie has been active in many different crafts since she was a young child.
While Julie was on a 15 month deployment to Afghanistan in 2008 we decided take our passion and let it work for us. We bought a garage full of tools including a table saw, miter saw, sanders, scroll saws, routing table, compressors, shop vac, drill press and more. We also made a plan to buy a die cut machine, embossers, papers, vinyls, and so much more. We knew we loved to craft but we were hobbiest and honestly we did it to free our creative souls. It was therapy for us. It would be years before we would sell our first item.
Then the time came in 2012 when we were having our morning coffee and decided to take a Leap of Faith and start marketing some of our items. We took off locally selling signs, coffee mugs, apparel, and furniture. We came down on orders to Fort Riley Kansas and decided to open an Etsy shop to allow our Tennessee customers a way to follow us. We started out being Leap of Faith Vinyl Creations because let's be honest it was a complete Leap of Faith. Soon we decided to add other products to our shop that had nothing to do with Vinyl. We still do vinyl products but we weren't sure Leap of Faith Vinyl Creations was suitable so we set out to find a name that could continuously grow with us.
We are parents to 3 young adult and thought about a name that included them but finding a name that encompassed them was a lot harder than we imagined. Little did we know we had our name staring us in the face the whole time.
The name Miss Sadie's Designs was inspired by our 2 fur babies Missy and Sadie. They are both 7 year old Yorkies. Sadie has been with us since she was 6 weeks old and we rescued Missy September 2015 after she was owner surrendered at her veterinarian's office. These two dogs bring an incredible amount of joy to our home and we were thrilled that they could be a part of our name. While we are a pet friendly home we are a smoke free home and business.
