We are a small veteran single mom run homestead located near Raleigh NC. Our beautiful homestead is made up of just under 3.5 acres of beautiful land which we are in the process of turning into our food forest. We aspire to live in harmony with nature. We strive to be good stewards of the land and be as sustainable as possible. We are a certified garden nursery and a certified wildlife habitat.

Kindred Acres Homestead is our sanctuary. It's our little slice of heaven....our food forest, wildlife habitat, and wellness center, We have planted well over 150 edible trees and bushes, and hundreds of herbs, flowers, and edibles to date and continue to plant as we fill in our food forest. We use regenerative gardening practices, utilizing chop and drop, woodchips, and compost waste to feed our plants, and we use a no-till gardening method. We focus on building soil and the ecosystem below our feet. Because this system works so well, it is very easy to maintain and it requires very little water. We use an extremely small amount of water for our gardens which is, in itself, a sustainable practice. We have medicinal plants for our apothecary, tea gardens for dried tea herbs, and annual edible gardens for our sustenance. We work with the land, regenerating the erosion areas and cleaning up the forest of sick or standing dead trees and invasive vines. We recently installed a wildflower field for pollinators and a cottage garden that surrounds our nut orchard. We do all of this without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or harsh chemicals. We built this space to not only be a sanctuary for us but for the nature creatures as well. Our work here at Kindred Acres is a project that will continue for a time to come.

Here you will find seeds from our bountiful harvests, bare-root plants, and beautiful and unique handmade crafts and gifts from sustainably harvested or recycled materials. We also offer other homestead items like whole or cut dried luffa and wellness items dried herbs and salves. We don't offer fancy labels or fancy packaging....but we do offer quality products with great customer service. We take pride in our products and strive to be good stewards of the land. Our wood worked items are from scrap and or discarded wood, sustainably harvested wood from fallen trees on our property or tree trimmings from our fast-growing trees. We try to make use of every bit of what we have. Items that have feathers are humanely harvested from our flocks' molted feathers they drop naturally. No harm came to any animal (our chickens are our pets and we love them to bits!) in the collection or making of our products. The beauty of handmade items are that no two pieces are alike so you will have a one-of-a-kind item. We take pride in our work and ensure you are getting top quality product that will last. Our plants and seeds are grown naturally, without the use of pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. Our starter cultures, while we are not certified as organic, are made using ONLY USDA certified organic ingredients.

We would like to welcome Alonna Torres to the team!! Alonna, being wheelchair-bound due to paralysis, spends her time doing art and creating. She is passionate about her art and was looking for ways to spread joy and make a little extra cash! We hired her to help our team out!! She is diligently working to handwrite shipping envelopes and drawing out our thank you cards for each of our Etsy seed orders. Whenever you make a seed purchase on our Etsy shop, you are not only helping to support our homestead but Alonna as well! You’ll get a one of a kind hand drawn thank you card from her.
