Where are the king Solomon Mines U.S.A. located? Why did you call the mines "king Solomon MInes usa? These are some of the many questions asked about the mines. They are located in Imperial County, California approximately 3 miles from the Colorado river, not far from the Arizona bonder. I called the mines "King Solomon Mines usa" because of a article i read about king Solomon Mine located in Israel. The more i reads the article, the more i realized that we had a king Solomon Mine in the good ol usa, or maybe even a greater mine and my grandfather Wesley w. Wallace and Norman Imbertson owned the mines!
Mr. Imbertson discovered the ore in 1928, when he was a surveyor for the Los Angeles Water and Power Department. In 1964, Imbertson and Wallace, both retired claimed the mines. Their intentions were to mine copper, but that tune into mining Chrysocolla and Malachite for gem material.I continued to mine the claims for several more years until the US Government declared it a desert tortoise wilderness area.
