Frequently asked questions

Custom and personalised orders

We offer custom orders for kintsugi supply refills. Please contact us before placing your order, and we’ll do our best to assist you.

Gift wrapping and packaging

If you’d like gift wrapping, please add the gift wrapping option to your basket and complete the payment—pressing the "Mark as a Gift" button alone will not apply it.

We’ll wrap your order with our exclusive paper and a traditional Japanese decorative knot (mizuhiki). If you’d like to include a message, just send it to us separately, and we’ll write it on a card for you.

Care instructions

Items repaired using traditional kintsugi techniques should be treated with the same care as traditional lacquerware.

For example,
1. Do not place an item repaired with kintsugi in a microwave, a dishwasher, an oven or an open fire.
2. Make sure to wash your repaired item gently and avoid scrubbing around the repaired cracks.

Please visit our website for the full explanation.

Important Shipping Information for the U.S.

Fedex may request you to submit a "TSCA Form" upon receiving the product. The TSCA (Toxic Substances Control Act) is a U.S. law regulating the import of toxic substances, including lacquer from Japan, regardless of the seller.
As long as it’s submitted by the deadline, your product will be delivered.
If requested, we can provide the form, which you’ll need to print and sign.
If you refuse or delay to submit the TSCA form by the deadline, the shipping company will dispose of the item on the spot, and we will be charged an additional disposal fee.
Please note that we cannot issue a refund if the TSCA form is not submitted by the deadline.

Important Shipping Information for the EU

VAT (sales tax) is collected by Etsy at the time of purchase, so you do not need to pay it upon delivery. If the delivery carrier asks you to pay VAT (sales tax) upon receiving the package, please be cautious, as this is incorrect.

What to do if I am asked to submit documents upon delivery

Customs in your country may sometimes inspect this product and request additional documents.

In any countries, you may be asked to submit a detailed invoice for the product.

Especially in the U.S., Fedex request you to submit a "TSCA Form" upon receiving the product. The TSCA (Toxic Substances Control Act) is a U.S. law regulating the import of toxic substances, including lacquer from Japan, regardless of the seller.

In any cases, as long as the document is submitted by the deadline, your product will be safely delivered.

We are here to support you, so please contact us immediately.

If you do not submit it within a few days, the package will be returned to the sender. Please note that we do not offer refunds under any circumstances.
