Ich bin seit Jahren Künstlerin, hauptsächlich mit Aquarellfarben und Zeichnungen, interessiere mich aber für alle Kunstformen und verschiedene Handwerkskünste. Ich bin eine echte Naturliebhaberin und finde so viel Schönheit in der Natur. Ich liebe alles Warme, Erdige, Alte und Rustikale und das Recycling von Dingen, um etwas Einzigartiges und Schönes zu schaffen. Ich liebe die Kombination von Altem und Neuem. Schon als Kind suchte ich mir auf dem Kürbishof immer den krummen Kürbis mit den Dellen und Kratzern aus, weil ich ihn für den interessantesten und charaktervollsten hielt. Ich mag die „nicht ganz perfekten“ (Wabi-Sabi) Dinge, die etwas unperfekt wirken und handgemacht, warm, rustikal und erdig aussehen… genau das macht sie für mich so besonders… die Schönheit und Einzigartigkeit in der Unvollkommenheit.

Mein Vater war Fischer, und ich habe viel Zeit mit ihm auf der San Francisco Bay verbracht. Schon als kleines Mädchen fand ich die verschiedenen Fische, die er fing, faszinierend – ihre Schuppen, die Beschaffenheit ihrer Haut, die Bewegung des Wassers und die wunderschöne Golden Gate Bridge im Nebel. Da ich asiatische Wurzeln habe, ist ein asiatischer Einfluss in vielen meiner Arbeiten spürbar. Ich liebe natürliche Texturen und Fossilien, Stammeszeichen, Kanji-Zeichen und bin ein großer Fan japanischer Wappen. (Das Wappen meiner Familie ist auf meiner Website abgebildet.)

Eine Freundin hat mich mit PMC bekannt gemacht und ich war sofort begeistert. Innerhalb eines Monats hatte ich einen Brennofen und fertige seitdem Schmuckkomponenten, Schmuckstücke sowie Raku-Perlen und -Knöpfe an. Raku ist meine besondere Leidenschaft. Ich genieße die Spannung, nicht zu wissen, wie das fertige Produkt aussehen wird – die Farben und schimmernden Effekte, die beim Öffnen des Ofens entstehen werden, sind einfach faszinierend. Die warmen, erdigen Farben und der dezente Glanz der Glasuren machen süchtig! Ich hoffe, meine Stücke inspirieren andere zu eigenen Designs oder bereiten Freude.

I have been an artist for years now, mostly watercolor and drawing but interested in all arts and different crafts. I am a true nature lover and find so much beauty in nature. I love anything warm, earthy, old & rustic, and recycling things making something unique and fun. I love the "something old with -the something new". I was always the kid who would pick out the crooked pumpkin at the patch with the dents and dings because I thought it was the most interesting one with the most personality. I like the "not so perfect" (wabi-sabi) things offset a bit and to look handmade, warm, rustic and earthy... that is what makes it unique to me... the beauty and uniqueness in imperfection.

My father was a fisherman and I spent a lot of time with him out on the SF Bay, even as a young girl I remember finding all the different fish he caught so interesting - their scales, texture of their skin, the movement of the water and the beautiful Golden Gate Bridge in the fog. Being of Asian descent, a lot of my pieces have an Asian flavor to them. I love natural textures and fossils, tribal symbols, kanji symbols, and LOVE Japanese Crests Designs.(My family Crest is pictured on my site).

A friend of mine introduced me to PMC and I was hooked. I Had a kiln within a month and I have been making Components and Jewelry and Raku beads & buttons for quite some time now. Raku is my special "love", I enjoy the excitement of not knowing what the final product will be as far as colors and iridescent effects I'll get when I open the kiln :) the warm earthy colors and subtle bling I get from the glazes are addicting! I hope my pieces inspire a design and or bring joy.
