Al crecer, mis padres alentaron la búsqueda de cualquier pasatiempo creativo y, por lo general, ¡también proporcionaron los materiales para comenzar! Para mí, realmente comenzó cuando tenía 16 años, con algunas herramientas para envolver alambre y un "hazlo" de mi madre. Más tarde, descubrí que realmente me encantaba trabajar con cadenas finas y hacer joyas que no involucraran nada complicado o débil como papel o hacer nudos.
Eventualmente, tomé una clase de estudio de Metales y joyería en la universidad que solidificó mis gustos artesanales: ¡trabajo mejor con materiales resistentes! Prospero cuando trato de descubrir diferentes formas de usar los materiales, y me encanta que se necesita paciencia y, a veces, mucha resolución de problemas para hacer realidad lo que tengo en la cabeza.
Me he tomado un tiempo lejos de las manualidades mientras la vida hacía cosas salvajes, pero estoy obstinadamente intentándolo de nuevo con otro juguete nuevo y brillante: las vidrieras. Espero capturar las bellas facetas de las cosas frágiles, tan valoradas por lo efímeras que son. ¡Con más de 25 años de experiencia en la elaboración, esta promete ser una de mis aventuras favoritas hasta el momento!

Growing up, my parents encouraged the pursuit of any creative hobby, and usually provided the materials to get started, too! For me, it really started when I was 16, with some wire wrapping tools and a "have at it" from my mom. Later, I discovered that I really loved working with fine chain, and making jewelry that didn't involve anything fiddly or weak like paper or tying knots.
Eventually, I took a Metals & Jewelry studio class in college that solidified my crafting tastes: I work best with sturdy materials! I thrive when I try to figure out different ways to use the materials, and I love that it takes patience and sometimes a lot of problem-solving to make what I have in my head into reality!
I've taken some time away from crafting while life did some wild things, but I'm stubbornly trying again with another shiny new toy: stained glass. I hope to capture the beautiful facets of breakable things, so valued because they are so ephemeral. With over 25 years of crafting experience, this promises to be one of my favorite adventures yet!
