The on again, off again!
I can't tell you how many times in the last 20 years I've picked up and put down my crochet hooks. Life happens and my hobby gets tucked away. Inspiration happens and we are reunited like old friends.
When I began crocheting seriously again towards the end of my college days, I figured I should have some sort of title to help me stand out. Boy, did I choose a mouthful : Yarn, Hook & Scissor. I mean, what more did I need to say after I listed off the tools I needed for my craft, right?! Fast forward almost 9 years and I finally came to the realization that I had outgrown that title and if I wanted to renew my craft, I needed to rethink the name as well.
After a couple months of tossing ideas around in my head and sometimes with my family, this inner conversation took place:
“Crochet is a series of loops and knots. Okay... knot... Knot, Knots, Knotted... KNOTTING. Alright, now the more personal aspect. Birgit? No, it’s always mispronounced. BeeGee is my nickname soooo... Knotting BeeGee? Knotting Bee?! YES! Sit on it for 2 weeks and tell me how you feel.
16 days later: Let’s do it!”
And there you have it!
