About
I grew up imagining things that were not there in a small Northern California town. For a time I was convinced that those skyscrapers in the distance changed positions while I slept. That greenish building surely was smaller and on the other side of the blue one yesterday.
When I was older, several businesses sprouted up in the area specializing in the manufacture of glass and lenses for laser systems – I thought that would be fun so I attended the local Junior College for specialty manufacturing courses. The Art History class was an elective and turned out to be life-altering. I learned that for thousands of years people have had strange thoughts similar to my own and have made long-lived monuments to them, in the form of statues and paintings. I thought, that’s the kind of narcissism I could get behind. Soon afterward, all of my classes were in the arts. That’s the long and the short of it.
