5 out of 5 starsI’ve purchased Amy’s framed circles in several sizes in order to craft mandala dotted trinket trays. I love the smooth surface and it’s great having the frame or rim separate so I can spray paint it a contrasting color. They line up perfectly!

5 out of 5 starsI’m using different sizes of Amy’s circles with frame or rim to make mandala trinket trays. The surface of the wood is so smooth, it’s perfect for dotting and craft painting.

Frequently asked questions
What is MDF?
MDF is short for Medium Density Fiberboard. It is a man-made item, made from wood fibers, resins and wax. It is denser that wood and it is very easy to decorate with paints and resins. However, it doesn't have a wood grain and it doesn't work well with wood stains, as it tends to come out blotchy.
How do I decorate the MDF?
For optimal painting, start with separate pieces before assembly. Use thin, light coats of acrylic paint to prevent drips; dab excess on plastic or paper and apply with a nearly dry brush or sponge for better control. Paint pens and permanent markers are convenient and affordable options.
How do I glue together the pieces together?
I highly recommend Ranger Multi Medium Matte or Tim Holtz Distress Collage Medium for versatile and strong adhesion on various surfaces like glass, plastics, wood, and paper. Available on Amazon and in craft stores, these adhesives offer quick permanent bonding (within 10 seconds) with a longer working time on non-porous surfaces. Both dry with a matte finish, making them ideal for shaker frames and preventing visible residue if excess glue squeezes out. For paper, MDF, or wood projects, consider Mod Podge or Aleene's Turbo Tacky Glue. Whichever adhesive you choose, apply a thin line, and remove excess on scratch paper to prevent overflow.

Custom and personalized orders
I do have several items in my shop that can be personalized, but I no longer create custom items for a single order. However, I'm always interested in taking suggestions for items that you would like to see in the shop, that others would also enjoy.
What is Birch Wood?
Birch is made from the Birch tree and I use the plywood version of it. Plywood is a material manufactured from thin layers or "plies" of wood veneer that are glued together with adjacent layers having their wood grain rotated. Plywood is actually stronger than natural wood, due the layers be laid in opposite directions.
