My father was a professional photographer in Susanville , California and owned a shop called Eastman's Studio Photography. In the early 80's he bought the original Eastman's Studio business and building in historic uptown Susanville . This studio had been there since the early 1900's.

My dad passed away in the early 1990's but he left with me memories and impressions that I carry with me today that reflect my work.

When I think of myself as an artist I tend to get drawn to images of the past. I find myself wondering whatever became of the people in the photos I use. What were they like? Where did she live? Was she surrounded by love? Was she alone when she died? Most importantly would she want to be remembered and her image brought back to life instead of being locked away in a trunk or stored in an old forgotten box. When I examine the pictures more closely the answer is yes. Thus begins my creative process to make this happen.
