Flaking paint, tattered cloth, a bit of whimsy, garden moss
I have been an antiques dealer for over 20 years. I started out doing a monthly indoor flea market that evolved into a brick and mortar antique shop with my sister and mom. The shop closed when we moved to Oklahoma as a result of my husband's job transfer. It wasn't long before I was itching to get back into the antique business. I had brought some of the items from my old shop with me and decided to rent a space at a new antiques mall in Oklahoma City. After returning to Virginia when my husband was promoted, I rented part of a store and went into business again! Now I just do antique shows and flea markets. Many of my customers have become friends and I love finding things that I know they will love. I hope we can become friends as I would enjoy finding things that you will love, too! Convo me with what you are looking for and I will be glad to add it to my "Wants" list. My favorite thing to do on Saturday morning is visit flea markets and estate sales.
I also enjoy creating something beautiful from something others would throw away. That is why I started making pillows from vintage textiles. Repurpose, reimagine, reinvent. That defines my work and my business.
Etsy has become my latest venue and I am enjoying this new experience on the web. I hope you will visit my facebook page at facebook.com/lrfoxdesign. There you will find special deals, information about care and identification of vintage and antique items as well as my show schedule.
My daughter also has a shop on Etsy. She has been my antiqueing and crafting sidekick since she could toddle around flea markets with me. You could find her under one of my tables at the flea market (hidden by the drape) playing with her Barbies. Now she is grown and an artist in her own right. She is a knitter. I taught her to knit when she was very young and you can see the results in her shop at http://www.ramsgirldesign.etsy.com. She has lovely handknitted items as well as vintage. I hope you will take the time to visit my "little girl".
