The barrette is beautifully made. The excellent quality is obvious. It was smaller than what I needed it to be however, I've gifted it to my niece who is 5 and a lover of all things Little Mermaid. This small size is definitely appropriate for a child. Thanks for making such a lovely product!

The birth of La Jolla Shell Works

As a child growing up in San Diego I loved combing the beaches for sand dollars and other shells! Once I met my future fiancé, who loved shells as well, we began to collect together. Shell collecting became a fun thing we both shared. Her perfect cowry shell she found at Sunset Cliffs tide pools is still the best shell we both have found since we met.

I began to embellish shells to decorate our home and then became quite prolific and set up shop at the local Farmer's Market here in La Jolla. Ever since it has been such a wonderful creative outlet and business.
