I'm a creative person who found her outlet in creating totally new crochet hats!
My name is Kristin and I'm a native of Roanoke, Va. I went to college at UNC-Asheville where I earned a double degree and met my husband. I was diagnosed at a very young age with a problem with my fine motor skills. The doctor said crocheting can help develop your fine motor skills. So, nurse mom taught me immediately... or at least she tried she's a lefty! My motor skill deficit is now slight enough that unless I tell you, you'll never know I have it. :-)
Mom's lessons on crocheting ended with the chain and single stitches so I took it a step or two further. I learned many more stitches and different ways to put them together. However, I still can't seem to follow someone elses pattern all the way through! So, I have taken to making up my own patterns and creating totally new works. This means, when making something new I often take the whole thing apart to add a stitch here or there. Leaving the work uneven or in any way imperfect is not an option since I'm a perfectionist (to the extreme - it's very sad).
I've been crocheting well over 20 years now. I've sold to friends and family and given my scarves and hats as gifts. Finally, my cousin told me I needed to get on Etsy so here I am! Please take a look at my shop. Keep in mind I love making new and different things so if you have an idea for something new send me a message!
