Are you a spiritual person who reflects on what life hands you? My newest release, Coronavirus Reflections: Bitter or Better?, deals with reflecting deeply on what happened to us in 2020-21 during the pandemic. Read, reflect and respond—I offer you these actions to reclaim what happened!
Climb up that spiral staircase to my shop, Larada's Reading Loft. Kick off your shoes and relax with one of my books.
Do you like memoirs? I have two. One is about my childhood in a rural southeastern Colorado town. The other is a grief memory about the loss of my parents.
HOW ABOUT WRITING YOUR OWN MEMOIR? I have a Memoir Workshop booklet that you can walk yourself through writing your personal stories or your families.
Do you like historical fiction? I have one that was a story I heard all my life and fictionalized. It is an immigration story pertinent to today's world of focus.
How about nonfiction? Read the story of how my grandfather put our family ranch together during the depression when others were losing theirs.
How about a compelling biography? Read about the most famous square dance caller in the world who began in a chicken coop. He also experienced World War II as a seventeen year old!
Do you like unusual cookbooks? Look at my series of three cookbooks--I scanned in my mom's recipe cards, so you see her handwriting and stains from much use.
Here's my family legacy through memoirs, stories, poetry and cookbooks--come and visit!

5 out of 5 starsThis book is fantastic! Larada Horner-Miller and Marshall Flippo obviously spent many hours doing interviews, plus she also interviewed his family members, friends, and other square dance callers and dancers! Even at age 91, Marshall Flippo had a fantastic memory. The book includes info on his military service during WW2, and his lifetime as a square dance caller traveling around the U.S. as well as in foreign countries. It took me only a few days to read all 576 pages. I highly recommend this book to everyone who ever even tried square dancing! It greatly exceeded my very high expectations! -- Susan Miller, Member of Fox Valley Mixers Square Dance Club, St. Charles, IL, and a square dancer beginning in 1962 at age 12
