Supporting wildlife conservation through textile art and design
My name is Casey and I am the artist/designer/maker behind Laterzees. I started my business with the goal of making colorful and eco-friendly items that highlight our natural world while leaving a minimal carbon footprint.
In 2020, after decades of sewing, I taught myself pattern design. After combining this new skill with my love of sewing and textiles, Laterzees was born. My inspiration comes from our beautiful planet and the colors, textures and wildlife that surround us. This is why sustainability is such an important aspect to my products.
It's one thing to love nature, but we also need to protect it. Some of the ways I try to limit my environmental impact is by choosing natural fabrics that are friendlier to our planet. Organic cotton, cork, hemp and linen are a few of my favorites. I choose eco-friendly packaging for shipping boxes, recycled paper tags, hemp paper thank you cards, recycled yarn woven labels. I research suppliers thoroughly to ensure materials are manufactured by ethically responsible companies whose values match my own. Significant thought and effort goes into every aspect of my business, not only in the patterns I design or the products I make, but in decisions made behind the scenes that no one ever sees.
I appreciate you stopping by to learn more about my story! I hope you enjoy my art. If you want to follow along on my Laterzees journey, find me on Instagram/Facebook: @Laterzees
Take care,
~ Casey
