Do you provide legal advice?
No, The Legal Atelier does not provide legal advice and we are not your attorneys. Everything in our shop is offered as DIY templates for your personal use. Our templates and the information contained in them should not be construed as legal advice.
If you have questions regarding the validity of a template or form in your jurisdiction or about how a form applies to your situation specifically, then it is always recommended to consult with a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction before relying on the document.
Can you customize a contract for me?
We’re not able to provide custom drafting or personalization. We’re not able to provide custom drafting or personalization. Creating individualized contracts would move too close to forming an attorney-client relationship, which we cannot provide through Etsy.
That said, all of our templates are fully editable and designed for easy customization. If you need more tailored wording or state-specific clauses, we recommend consulting with a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction.
Are these templates valid in my state?
In general, yes. All of our templates, forms, and estate planning packages are drafted to align with basic principles of U.S. contract and estate law, which makes them widely applicable across the country.
Please be aware that depending on the type of template, bundle, or estate planning package you purchase, certain states may have more or less stringent requirements, or even different requirements, that are not reflected in the base document. If you have concerns regarding the laws and compliance in your jurisdiction, it is always best to consult with an attorney licensed in your state.
How do I download my files?
Once you complete your order, Etsy will send you an email with a download link. You can also access your files anytime by logging into your Etsy account, clicking Purchases & Reviews, and selecting Download Files next to your order.
If you ever have trouble downloading your files, please send us a message as we can gladly email you the documents.
How do I edit my files?
Most of our forms are designed for Microsoft Word, which makes them very easy to personalize. You can also open them in Google Docs or another word processor if that’s your preference.
If you’d like a Google Docs version set up for you, just message us after your purchase and we’ll happily provide one.
I don’t see the template I need—can you create it?
If there’s a document you’re searching for but can’t find in our shop, send us a message! We’re always open to new ideas. If it’s something we can create for you, we’ll be happy to make them as a new DIY template for the shop. Please note that any new documents we create are still general templates, not custom contracts designed for your individual circumstances.
Can I use these templates, bundles, or documents for my business or clients?
All of our templates, forms, and estate planning packages are copyrighted works owned by The Legal Atelier. They are licensed for your personal use only, unless otherwise specified in the listing.
This means you may use them within your own household or business for internal purposes, but you may not resell, redistribute, copy, or share them with others. They also may not be offered as deliverables to clients or used in any commercial service without prior written permission from The Legal Atelier.

What is your return policy?
We understand that purchasing a digital product can feel uncertain since you can’t preview every detail beforehand. We are confident in the quality of our templates, bundles, and trust packages, but if you find that your purchase does not meet your needs, simply contact us within 7 days of your order and we will gladly provide a full refund. When requesting a refund, we appreciate any feedback on what didn’t work, as it helps us continue to improve. While our policy is limited to 7 days due to the nature of digital products, please reach out anytime if you experience an issue—we’ll always do our best to make it right.
