5 out of 5 starsIt's a beautiful fabric, but there's a problem. It's not safe to place this on hardwood furniture unless a proper liner is sown on. You risk "plasticizer migration." Under heavy items, heat, and humidity, the synthetic fibers can chemically fuse or "melt" directly into the polyurethane, lacquer, or wax finish of a hardwood table, causing permanent clouding, stripping, or physical bonding. To completely isolate the raschel fabric from hardwood you should sew in a breathable, non-reactivea natural liner. I'd Recommend Liner Materials like 100% Unbleached Cotton Duck or Canvas, which furniture upholsterers use. Cotton is completely inert and will not react with wood finishes, even under extreme pressure or heat.
