Hello and welcome to my etsy shop. I'm Libby Element, an artist and illustrator from over the hills and far away (Derbyshire, England). I'm inspired by literature and nature and my favourite thing to do in the whole wide world is to paint the day away and play my records.

I love to paint and I love to read, which is where my etsy shop began. I never tire of choosing books and picking subjects to paint on them. Too many books and never enough time! I love to pick something from the book or page itself, often a motif that recurs in a novel or something that's inspired by a particular line. I'm a fan of many, many things myself, books, bands, films, artists - and I'm a believer in wearing my heart on my sleeve and celebrating all that's dear to me. Which is what this is really, it's my way of shouting about the things I love.

That people buy my prints makes me happier than I can say. You're not strangers if you love the same book :) I love sending my paintings and prints out into the world, to sit on shelves in homes I'll never visit, in cities I've never seen.
