Frequently asked questions
How do you package comics for shipping?
In a plain manila envelope so you can keep your comic buying a secret, although we can write the words COMIC BOOK INSIDE in large block letters if requested. Comics are bagged and boarded, individually unless stated otherwise. They are attached to, and surrounded by, thick slabs of cardboard.
If you buy enough comics or a CGC'd issue, they are mailed in a sturdy box. In this instance bubble wrap is used, possibly cardboard, sometimes colored confetti.
Why are the comic book conditions mentioned in the listing not visible in the pictures?
Professionally graded comics, such as ours, with grades of 9.0 or higher (VF/NM, NM-, Near Mint, NM+) almost never have a defect appear in the ultra high resolution scans (using the ZOOM button). Only when a comic is viewed in person under a bright light mounted to a swing arm, which is then angled to reflect surface gloss, can some of these tiny characteristics be seen. That is how I grade.
Comics with grades of 9.0 or higher are gift quality "new" comics which probably were never placed on a newsstand or comic rack when first issued and often are unread copies.
Do you have more comics?
We have more comics than time but less than there are stars in the Milky Way. There are at least 40 long boxes of Golden, Silver and Bronze age issues and six long boxes of autographed comics not listed (for reference, our entire Etsy store contains only 5 long boxes!). And at least 100 more long boxes of bagged and boarded comics from the early eighties to present and another 100 without bags and boards. If people from NASA would help us count we would know.
Can I reserve items?
Absolutely. Just ask and we will place a reserve in your name on the listings. Items need to be paid for within one week of being placed on reserve or we will send our minions to find you.
Do you offer discounts based on volume?
Send me a message with the issues you are interested in and a reasonable offer. Whether I accept mainly depends on how difficult the issues will be to replace and how much storage time, money and effort I have invested in the comic. If I can meet your offer I will.
Often I have held onto comics for decades and I am in no particular hurry to sell them. Some issues are already far below guide and priced to move as is. And then there are others I have forgotten about and would love to let live at your house.
Why isn't there a back cover scan?
Oops! Every so often I find a comic without a back cover scan. It is mysterious and spooky. If you find one let me know and I will re-post a back cover ASAP!
Do you sell to Canada or other Countries?
Sure do! Since each country has different rules and shipping costs, let me know which comics you would like and your address. I will find out the shipping cost and create a listing.
How do you package your toys?
Securely placed in bubble wrap in a thick cardboard box.
