O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me;... Ps 43:3a
As a young girl, I would sit in my chair at school and stare out the window and dream, and then doodle a little bit. I carried that love of art on into high school, attended art camps, participated in competitions...When the Lord directed my life's path toward the work of the ministry I was sure I would never pick up an eraser or a sable-hair brush again.
Until the winter of 2013.
In the dark winter of 2012 and wet Spring months of the following year I had struggled with who Christ was molding me into, and found my mind was renewed and refreshed through art, just as it was as a child. I began to sketch and share the sketches as encouragement to others. I realized that I could pursue my passion as a legitimate business and be a help to homes by painting my sketches. I played around with digitizing and found it was not for me but watercolor? oh Yes. Yes, yes, yes.
In the darkest moments we remember the words of our friends, our confidants, our mentors. When life's trials rage and threaten to undo our very existence we go back to what we know. And what I know is, my Saviour is strong. His words are true. He will fight for me. My goal is to simply create and encourage. To send out light and truth. To bring Him glory. And one way I can most definitely do that very thing is through the gift God has given, sharing His truth with others with all that is in me.
