Welcome and hello.
Simple story, really. I spent several years after graduating college working in the marketing and communication in the non-profit, corporate, and education sectors. In July 2004, I was blessed with my beautiful daughter Lillian. In 2006, we relocated from New Hampshire to Virginia and with that I traded running between board meetings (and the coffee maker) to running between the sewing machine, princess dress-up, back to the sewing machine, to games of freeze tag and tea parties, then back again to the sewing machine. Life couldn't be busier...or better.
As a young child, my Nonny (aka grandma) taught me the sewing basics during our family visits in Wyoming and my mother, also a skilled seamstress and quilter, carried on the lessons with me. and I couldn't feel more blessed with the ability to sew, create, imagine and make it happen. So, combining my greatest passions of family and sewing (ok, I admit it it...I'm a self-professed "fabric-holic") grew my line of products, inspired by my daughter's artistic love of drawing and coloring. She's the "Lil B." of Lil.B.Designs ...and now that she's old enough to understand this, she loves to "offer" her own opinions, suggestions and marketing flair! She collects my remnants for her own projects, and I can see already we have the next sewing apprentice blossoming in our family -- the old adage "it runs in the family" rings true in our clan!
Handcrafting my products is by far my creative outlet (along with DIY home projects, painting and giving new purpose and life to thrift store finds), and Lillian is my constant daily inspiration. It brings me such joy to share my love of sewing and the creative process with her...and to share my products with you. Happy Doodling!
