Handmade with no compromise
Back in 2008, when we were still teenagers, we decided to put together all our passions and skills to create Limbs Disarm collective. Since then, our path has wound through the underground world of punk, crust and metal, merging personal artistic preferences with our lifelong love for history, environmental activism, self-sufficiency, history-focused travels and much more. The common denominator throughout has always been our ethics and the urge to get our hands dirty and create something meaningful. DIY at its purest form, whether it is a brand new handmade screen for a t-shirt, a history-inspired bracelet or a new permaculture project. We have always tried to be as accurate, transparent, informative and true as possible in everything we do.
What you find in our shop is 100% handmade, with no compromise. T-shirts, prints and all the merch are designed directly by us, our close friends or great artists we respect and had the chance to connect with, thoroughly discussing styles and historical accuracy, the message we want to convey and how best to reimagine it. The whole printing process is handcrafted, with no mass production involved, no third parties and no low quality machine-made prints that won't last. Just two people going through the whole process, from building the screen with its silk and frame, to packaging and shipping.
Every design aims to do justice to our ancient history or offer a fresh artistic take on it, always driven by our thirst for deeper knowledge of our past, be it Neolithic, Bronze Age, Celtic, Pictish or Viking. Our inks are environmentally friendly, water-based and locally made, much harder to work with but delivering a higher quality print that will last as long as the fabric itself. They are all custom mixed after each order is placed. Jewellery alike is handcrafted and made to order to your personal specifications without the use of any power tools. Screenprinting is just one part of the big picture, though. We are also involved in many permaculture projects, have been running a synergic vegetable garden for years, and are passionate about wild foraging and herb gathering. The harvest goes to our tables or into the production of natural remedies, herbal teas, incenses, balms and oils.
