Sewing felt toys that celebrate the magic of childhood
Blame my mother! I was BORN with a popcorn brain, and it has been exploding ever since.
My first crayolas and a ream of newsprint was little-artist-girl bliss and it opened wide the door to creative expression. There followed a treasured collection of fabric and felt, bits of yarn, sticky popsicle sticks, and smelly seagull feathers from a California beach. With all this great stuff to create with, my childhood was a magical time of scheming...and inventing!
Fast forward to a latter-day where I find myself driven to create the same magic for my grandchildren. After years of scrapbooking (I was ShaBbyTaGs on Ebay), I returned to my favorite textiles and starting sewing felt instead of paper. What a joy it has been to rediscover my "old friends!"
With the aim to share what I make for my adorable Littles, LindyJ Design was hatched on Etsy,... and the ideas continue to pop! With an empty nest, and WITHOUT the loads of laundry (which I sometimes miss), delightful days are now spent in my colorful home studio. It's loaded with inspiration: vintage toys, dolls I adore, bins of felt and fabric, and a walk-in craft closet to die for!
