I also think it's great that you can make two different octopuses with one pattern – a small one and a large one. I've only made the small one so far and I'm already looking forward to crocheting the large one. I made a few changes to suit my needs, but anyone with some experience can decide that for themselves. I highly recommend the pattern! 👍🏻
