Each Linenia dress is handcrafted (Made-to-Order), to ensure a perfect fit and comfort. We have thrown seasonal collections and passing trends out the window. Instead we design timeless essentials made to last. Every order is made locally in one of our studios in New York, Dallas, or Eastern Europe. That way, we minimize the carbon footprint of having to ship orders worldwide.
WHY 100% LINEN?
Linen was the natural choice for our handcrafted dresses — literally and figuratively. It flourishes without chemicals or fertilizers, demands less water, and doesn't starve farming soil like cotton. For these reasons, it is the most sustainable organic, plant-based fiber available.
It’s also the most comfortable:
Linen has natural breathability and moisture-wicking properties, making it the perfect summer fabric. It is 2-3 times as strong as cotton. This allows the weave to be much more open, lightweight, and breezy without losing the strength of the fabric.
It develops sophisticated wrinkles over time:
Linen is famous and beloved for its casually elegant wrinkles — that shouldn’t be ironed out! Linen needs to be used and it gets better the more your wear and wash it. Actually, since it is one of the fastest drying fabrics, it stays fresh much longer — even with fewer launderings.
It is a very healthy fabric:
Linen is gentle on your skin and hypoallergenic. We only use ethically sourced, organic linen that will feel soft against your skin. With every wash it gets even softer, eliminating the need to use fabric softener that can cause allergies.
HOW WE REDUCE WASTE
The long-lasting and durable quality of our fabrics goes a long way towards a sustainable production. In addition, we do our best to reduce waste in our manufacturing cycle. We cut patterns more economically, make the garments on an order-only basis, and up-cycle any excess fabric into smaller garments, parts of new garments or accessories (dusty bags, shopping bags or fabric samples for our clients). Every order is shipped in earth-friendly packaging that is either recyclable or biodegradable.
