Michelle & Charis are a mum and daughter team, who have a collective 43 years of experience of sewing, knitting and crocheting.
All of our patterns are designed, pattern drafted, professionally size graded and sampled by us and our lovely team of pattern testers. Our patterns are currently only published in English, but we are working towards translating them in the future.
We also make a limited amount of samples to sell. We usually only make one of each size, so when you buy from us you are buying something special and made with love.
As well as the patterns and pieces listed in our shop, we also welcome custom orders, so please contact us if you have something special in mind.
When you purchase a digital download from us, you will receive a link from Etsy to download your PDF. If you don't receive this, please just send us a quick message and we'll get it to you as soon as we can. Our PDFs can be opened and printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is free to download, or by using any of the main browsers online.
Please follow our Instagram account @little.fig.handmade for shop updates and sneak peeks of new products!
All items are handmade by us in the North East of England.

4 out of 5 starsI’m not a complete beginner and have a fair few skills sewing wise but I did find following some of the instructions quite difficult and the designers were extremely helpful and prompt in answering all my questions. I still think a more indepth explanation of some of the techniques would be most beneficial for sewist especially beginners. I had to watch several videos to achieve some of the end results because my brain just wasn’t getting some of the trickier techniques. You do need to know how to ease a curve when sewing the Peter Pan collar and have an understanding of the two types of binding and how to use them. Overall I’m thrilled with the end result but it’s taken me two whole days which is a lot longer than other more complex patterns. Sometimes you just have to find your own way of doing things and that’s ok.

Thankyou for your feedback- we’ve taken it all on board and as we discussed, there are some details we’ll add to the instructions. Your finished dress is beautiful, so thankyou for sharing this! 😊

Frequently asked questions
What happens if I can't download my pattern from Etsy?
Please just get in touch, and we'll arrange to get the pattern to you by email instead.
Can I sell the items I make from Little Fig patterns?
Yes of course - You may sell your makes from a Little Fig pattern if you sell on a small scale – please credit us as pattern designer. Little Fig patterns may not be used commercially or for mass production. The patterns themselves are for personal use only. You can print them for your own use but cannot distribute for free or resell electronically or by hard copy.
I'm stuck with my pattern - please could you help?
Yes, absolutely! Please just message us or email us, and we'll get in touch ASAP.
In which language are your patterns published?
All of our patterns are in English, using English UK terminology. We are beginning to publish our patterns in German, too, and it will state in the listing of a pattern, whether that particular pattern is available in German. If not stated, then it's only in English.
Do you supply physical versions of your patterns?
No, all of our patterns are only available in PDF download format. You can print the pattern at home to use, or use public printing services such as your local library or copy shop.
Our sewing patterns come in A4 cut and stick format, and most also come with A0 projector/copy shop files.
