Our Footprints and Journey to Europe
Little Grass Shack (formerly Cheeky Tiki) began in 2001 when founder Jamie Wilson was island-hopping through the South Pacific. Always drawn to the character and soul of island life, Jamie discovered the world of Tiki after watching local carvers shaping wooden idols. When one woman jokingly referred to a carving of the god Tangaroa as the “cheeky tiki” because of his lack of clothing, the name — and the spark — was born.
That night, sheltering from a tropical storm, Jamie sketched the very first idea for Cheeky Tiki… and that’s where the journey truly began.
Returning to England, Jamie opened an art studio above a Tiki bar in London, where his passion for Polynesian culture continued to grow. It was there that he met Anjy, a lifelong pop-culture lover who grew up on a boat on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. Drawn together by a shared sense of adventure and creativity, they combined their talents and vision.
As they began designing Polynesian-inspired décor and interiors, word spread — and so did their client base. Soon they were creating full Tiki environments for bars, nightclubs, and collectors, always guided by their “learn it, build it, do it ourselves” philosophy. When a client asked for a custom Tiki mug, they bought a kiln and taught themselves the craft — a hands-on approach that still defines the brand today.
Growing Into Europe
As Little Grass Shack continued to grow, so did its reach. To better serve customers across Europe — and to reduce shipping times, costs, and customs delays — the business expanded its operations and now has a dedicated warehouse in Spain.
This milestone marks an exciting new chapter: faster delivery throughout the EU, local fulfilment, and the ability to offer an even wider range of products to the growing European Tiki and cocktail community.
From handmade pottery to Polynesian-inspired design, Little Grass Shack continues its mission:
bringing the spirit of the islands to people all over the world — one mug, one carving, and one tropical escape at a time.
