About Little Jaybird Farm
We started our homestead in 2014, and were focusing on heritage breed rabbits at the time. We had our first son in August of that year, and slowly began expanding our farm. We added heritage breed chickens and pigs. As the next summer progressed, we stepped up our operation to include selling eggs and compost, and let our son be our inspiration for the name, Little Jaybird Farm (due to the fact that he would always be as naked as a jaybird if we would let him).
We have since expanded to include quail, bees, edible and medicinal mushrooms, organic produce, organic herbs, and value added, natural products. We have also added two more wild little boys to our family! We only raise heritage breed animals as we are doing our part to aid in the breed's continuity. We practice sustainability on our farm through using solar power on our fencing, manure to fertilize our organic garden, soldier flies to consume our food waste and then to feed our chickens, and more. We also live an eco-conscious lifestyle and try to minimize our footprint as often as possible.
We currently sell all of our eggs locally at our farm, and offer scheduled farm tours. We wanted an outlet to sell some of our other products that can be shipped, such as our compost, manure tea kits, and natural products, hence what brought you here. Every item you find in our shop was produced on our farm, whether from the animals or hand-crafted in our kitchen. We take pride in what we sell, and offer only the best quality products for you to enjoy.
