Retirement Business
After 20 years living all over the US and overseas due to military service, then settling in York, PA and working an additional 20 years. As a military spouse, you are always starting new employment and never really able to establish a career, or at the very least find a job that you really enjoy.
I was a cake decorator for many years, in retirement, I traded my spatula for a paint brush to make Christmas yard ornaments for our house. People offered to buy them. Next thing you know, I was consigning word work in stores. Then we decided to turn this into an official business in 2022.
99% of our business was through craft shows throughout PA, MD, DE and WV. Often times we would do 3 to 4 shows a month. Craft shows are a lot of work, having to deal with unpredictable weather, but we enjoy meeting people. The joy of meeting people that we have touched through our work is so heartwarming and humbling. We are retired, but this way we are touching people keeps us going. We work 7 days a week in retirement.
We started Etsy in February 2024. We did not expect too much business, but it has been a pleasant surprise! We are so grateful that people all over the United States are purchasing our products!
We cannot thank everyone enough and we are inspired to keep making our products!
