Creating unique and useful rochet items for everyone and the home.
I have a yarn addiction! And I have a penchant for always having a new idea/project to start. After a while my numerous creations got out of control, so I opened an etsy shop where I could share my creations with others.
It all began when I was 8 and my grandmother taught me how to crochet slippers. I don't remember how many pairs of slippers I crocheted that Christmas break, but it was a lot! Then it was scarves, baby blankets, hats, .....
When I had my first baby almost 14 yrs later, I picked the skill back up and created a beautiful white baby blanket for my first son - white just in case he was a she! I got braver with my next 3 babies - my girls got shades of pink and purple crocheted blankets - each different and unique. They still have them on their beds! My youngest was a boy, now 20 months old. My crochet skill and love has grown. I made him 3 baby blankets - all different - and I learned to use different types of yarn. Organic cotton yarn is wonderful!
Homeschooling 4 kiddos with a baby in tow doesn't leave me a lot of down time to crochet, but I manage to find the time - mainly on our trips in to town when my husband drives. Besides homeschooling, we also keep busy with a small hobby farm. We have raised one of everything, but when the baby came a long, we downsized to bees, blueberries and 17 raised garden beds.
My girls are learning to crochet and love to help create new items. My oldest has a service project of crocheting baby hats for the local children's hospital's NICU. They love to receive her packages of hats for their patients. It's a great way for us to give back to our community.
I love the feeling of finishing a crochet project - looking over what I was able to create with some yarn, a hook, and some determination.
