Creating bags with a story
I am a retired RN who has always found bits of time (never enough) to sew while working full time and raising 3 kids. When the nest was empty, I inherited a bedroom and turned it into a quirky little studio, a dream come true!
My gramma and mom were talented seamstresses and quilters, and their hands were always busy with crocheting, knitting, hand quilting, tatting, ... Growing up surrounded by their creativity and ingenuity, I took their love of fiber arts and 'making do with what you have' into adulthood.
I love giving old clothing new life and purpose, and I love the challenge of 'listening' to the item and see what it wants to be...making do with what I have in front of me inspires more creativity.
I feel blessed in retirement to have more time to dedicate to my love of sewing and thrifting, rescuing items from the landfill, and creating bags with a story. Opening an Etsy shop was a long-time goal of mine, and I'm so thrilled to finally make it happen.
About the shop name...LoLo is my childhood nickname, as my little brother couldn't pronounce 'Lori.' The name stuck and my family still uses it!
If you're still reading, thank you for visiting my shop and for your interest in my story.
I hope you find something you love.
