The Lotus Studio of Perennial Art and Crafts began as an informal design and sewing workshop in Heidi’s home basement, where she would regularly make designs and sew garments for her friends and family!
Once her children started school, Heidi’s time freed up, allowing her to focus on her various artistic skills, like painting and sewing.
Having moved from the lights of Paris to the forests of the mid-west, she missed the working ambiance of a busy downtown area and together with her husband, looked for a suitable location for her various artistic endeavors throughout Bloomington.
Very soon, they found an old historic building, nestled in the colorful and artsy historic Prospect Hill neighborhood, in downtown Bloomington! After purchasing and renovating the building in 2014, giving it new life, Heidi moved her basement atelier to this new location where she continued for a few years with unofficial arts and crafts classes and clothing design, besides working on illustrations for a children’s book, that was published in 2016.
With children growing older and her time being yet more freed, finally in August of 2020, The Lotus Studio of Perennial Arts and Crafts became an official business.
Since then, Heidi has spent many of her free hours creating women’s and men’s and children’s clothing as well as offering and hosting arts and crafts workshops for the younger generation!
