Hello and Welcome! My name is Sarah, and I live and make things in beautiful Brooklyn, New York, with a day job in Manhattan.
The name of my shop, "LoveThisBit", is derived from a story my sister told me after her first trip to England (where she met her now husband on a blind date). She brought gifts to the little girls of her English hosts, Luisa and Camilla, who were 2 and 4 years old. While the adults were talking, my sister looked over and saw Camilla picking and holding up each piece of the fake beauty set my sister brought, quietly saying to no one in particular in her little English accent, "Oh, I love this bit!"
I have always been enchanted by that story. It speaks to something inside of me about childhood wonder, seeing beauty in small things, being in your own little world, simple delights, etc.
That's what I hope to bring alive with this shop. I'm glad to be here.
ABOUT THE HATKERCHIEF
I design and hand-make, each one-of-a-kind HatKerchief. The original pattern is based on a hat I found at a street fair years ago, made from a woman in Central America.
I constantly get comments when I wear them, so I decided to bring them to the world!
My HatKerchiefs tie in the back, and when worn over your ears, it will keep you warm in all of the cooler-to-freezing cold seasons. I wear the wool hats from early fall to late spring, through the dead of a New York winter.
The cotton HatKerchiefs, when worn behind your ears, can be worn in warmer climes or for the milder-to-sweatlodge seasons of year. Right through a blistering New York summer.
Best News? They are adjustable for a perfect fit, are extremely flattering with all face-shapes and hairstyles, and they don't mess up your hair!
p.s. The lovely Ana Jamolca models in these photos.
p.p.s. My excellent banner was the creation of Lindsey at ThePostmansKnock here on Etsy in case you'd like to check her out.
