Welcome to Loved Baby Designs! This is how it all began...
Hello and welcome to my shop!
This is just a little bit about me and how it all began... A few years ago now, while I was at work (I was neonatal ICU nurse), I had a friend walk into the room I was working in and ask me if I was interested in taking a baby home as a foster child. I walked over and looked at this sweet baby sitting in a swing. He was absolutely perfect. He was ready to be discharged but DHR had not been able to find him a foster care placement. I had a million reasons to not take him home. My husband and I had not been married very long and were still learning how to just be married. I was in school. I was working full time. I had never been a parent. I could get too attached and he could go back home. We were going to have to spend our first few months with him going to multiple doctors appointments every week. But God just wrecked my heart for this baby and his situation. So on August 15, 2013, I went to the hospital and picked up this sweet, most perfect baby. His was the happiest baby I have ever been around, smiling ALL the time. From that day forward, my life and my heart were changed forever. Taking care of him taught me to love at a depth that I had never known before. Due to circumstances that we did not know about when we brought him home, his stay with us became much longer than we originally anticipated. And when that sweet baby was 9 months and 3 weeks old, we got a phone call that our sweet baby had a brother that had just been born and needed a place to go. So on April 17, 2014, we picked up another little angel.
For our oldest little guy's first birthday, I decided to try to make the invitation myself on my laptop with an older version of Photoshop Elements that someone had given me. It may have taken me hours and hours to do it, but I LOVED making it. So I kept playing with it and creating little invitations and decided to open a little Etsy shop with them. I named my Etsy shop "Loved Baby Designs" after our sweet boys and the incredible journey that foster care has taken us on.
The past few years have been the most wonderful and physically and emotionally exhausting of my life but I wouldn't change one minute of it. There is absolutely nothing better than the feeling of being a mother and the feeling that you are exactly where you are supposed to be. God called us out onto the waters and provided for our every need on this journey. I am overjoyed to get to tell you that we adopted those sweet angels on September 27, 2016.
Needless to say, fostering and adoption are my heart. If you are a foster parent or are seeking to adopt and need graphic design work done, please send me an Etsy message. I am happy to do that work for you as a gift. And if you feel God tugging on your heartstrings to step out and do something, just do it. It could literally change everything.
