Ich habe meine Hände in der Kunst, seit ich ein Teenager war. Damals habe ich das Sticken gelernt, als ich mit einer Rückenoperation aufgebahrt wurde. Dann, durch das College, machte ich Schmuck, um die Rechnungen zu bezahlen. Ich habe auch im College gestrickt und mich auch durch das Stricken von Mützen unterstützt. Vor etwa zehn Jahren habe ich wieder angefangen, Schmuck herzustellen, und ich habe auch wieder mit dem Stricken begonnen, und es ging zum Weben über, das ich liebe.

Ich bin auch Schriftsteller, mit veröffentlichten Büchern / Werken in Anthologien. Ich habe eine Radiosendung (Writers on Writing, KUCI-FM). Aber ich muss immer mit Farbe arbeiten. Hält mich gesund.

Wenn es um Perlen geht, liebe ich Vintage-Glasperlen, Perlen und Halbedelsteine. Ich liebe es auch, Meerglas an unserem lokalen Strand hier in Südkalifornien zu sammeln und drahtumwickelte Anhänger zu kreieren.

Was auch Spaß macht, ist, wenn ein Freund oder Kunde mir Perlen oder eine alte Halskette bringt und möchte, dass ich sie zu etwas Neuem mache. Ich begrüße Sonderanfertigungen.

Wenn es um Garn geht, liebe ich Naturfasern: Wolle, Seide, Bambus. Ich habe mich kürzlich mit dem Färben von umherziehender Wolle beschäftigt und es ist aufregend zu sehen, was das Endergebnis sein wird.

I've had my hands in the arts since I was a teen. Back then I learned to embroider when I was laid up with back surgery. Then, through college, I made jewelry to pay the bills. I learned to knit in college, too, and supported myself by knitting hats, too. About ten years ago I got back into making jewelry and I also took up knitting again, and it segued to weaving, which I love.

I'm a writer as well, with published books/works in anthologies. I have a radio show (Writers on Writing, KUCI-FM). But I always have to work with color. Keeps me sane.

When it comes to beads, I love vintage glass beads, pearls, and semi precious gemstones. I also love collecting sea glass at our local beach here in Southern California and creating wirewrapped pendants.

What's also fun is when a friend or client brings beads or an old necklace to me and wants me to fashion it into something new. I welcome custom orders.

When it comes to yarn, I love natural fibers: wool, silk, bamboo. I recently got into dyeing roving wool and it's exciting to see what the end result will be.
