Welcome to Woodknotics
We are a husband and wife team located in beautiful East Texas. In our shop you will find an eclectic mix of items for your home, special events such as weddings and birthdays and an array of items for gift giving.
I’ve been creating items for as long as I can remember for our own family and others. I’m always excited seeing the transformation of what a new coat of paint can do. My husband has said many times “That I’d paint him if he stood still long enough”! So in late 2013 our Etsy shop was born so that I could have a creative outlet to share with others and also have a way to financially contribute to our family.

Fast forward to 2019 – My husband has now joined the shop on a full time basis. He’s retired after 30 years in the engineering and construction field and I’m so excited to have his help, skill and knowledge. He’s a man that knows his way around any workshop. He is blessed with woodworking skills as well as metal work too. So be on the lookout for lots of new items in our shop.
We are grateful for every order we’ve received and thankful and blessed by the new customer relationships we’ve made.

Fast forward to the beginning of 2023.
My husband had not been feeling himself for the last 2-3 months of 2022 but wanted to put off going to the doctor until after the Holidays. So on Dec. 27th a doctors appointment was made and we quickly found out that my husband was quite ill. He had an inoperable cancer. So we shut our Etsy shop down on January 3rd, finished building and shipping out our in-house orders that we had. And then the cycle of doctor visits began.
It is with tremendous sadness and a broken heart - he lost his battle in March of 2023. Just 68 short days after we found out he had cancer.
After 6 months, I've decided to open our shop back up to help make a living for myself, (the bills do not stop) although since my husband was the woodworker of our husband / wife team, I will no longer be listing large wood items. He would never teach me how to do the woodworking end of our business - he was always afraid I'd cut my fingers off. He always said "he'd rather cut his off and not risk mine". Which he did cut the tip of his thumb off making crosses for our wedding boards. So when I say -we put our blood, sweat and tears into our work…. we actually did.

I normally do not write about our personal lives on the internet, however after several past customers have written to see if we still make our magnetic chalkboards so they could order more, I wanted to post an up-date as to why we don't any longer.

I hope that you'll find something in my shop that you just can't live without. I've gone back to what I originally started with back in 2013 (hand painted home decor) but will also be adding an array of new items.
