Hello Etsy shoppers! My name is Carol. You might be wondering why my shop is named "LuCilla Ray Crochet and Collectibles". I wanted to honor my mother and father with my venture into business with my hobbies. My mother's name was LuCilla and my father's was Ray. My parents raised 5 children on a small farm. We were taught Jesus, love, hard work, respect, and compassion. We were by no means perfect and we struggled, A LOT! My Grandmother, Lydia, taught me to crochet one summer, while we watched "General Hospital"! I've crocheted on and off for 50 years now. My collectible hobby started when I visited a thrift shop a few years back. It was amazing to find items that reminded me of growing up in my grandparents' and my home. Finding these items brings back floods of wonderful memories. When I started picking up items for nostalgia sake, I soon realized, I can't keep all this! So... I decided my dance down memory lane when I curate items that remind me of the days past with family, will have be be enough. I hold on to the memories while waiting for them to sell! I pray that the baby blankets remind the child and child's family, that they are wrapped in God's love and love of family around them.
