About the Artist...
My passion for sewing started at an early age under the guidance of my mother, whose talent as a seamstress inspired a lifelong love of craftsmanship. That foundation led me to pursue a degree in Apparel Design and build a successful 35-year career creating products for renowned brands such as Nike, Pendleton, and Columbia Sportswear. Over the years, those experiences shaped the skills and artistry that ultimately led me to my true passion—millinery.
At Luminata, I create hats that blend timeless elegance with everyday wearability. Each piece begins with carefully selected felts, silks, and straws that are shaped by hand using traditional millinery techniques involving steam, heat, and moisture. Every design is then thoughtfully finished with unique embellishments, from vintage treasures and hand-dyed silks to carefully chosen feathers and trims. No two hats are ever exactly alike. To ensure comfort and versatility, every hat also features my signature adjustable ribbon for a customized fit.
Creating bespoke hats is one of the most rewarding parts of my work. I love collaborating with clients to design pieces that express their individuality, style, and story. Every Luminata hat is handcrafted with care and intended to become a cherished accessory—one that is worn, enjoyed, and treasured for years to come.
