Not another skull t-shirt.
As a writer and designer, I've never been content with off-the-shelf fashion. Every single high-street or online shop has the same set of t-shirts, tops and bags: ones with "BRAND NAME"; or ones with skulls, motorcycles, maybe something vaguely demeaning.
"I could make something better than that".
So I did.
There's no greater feeling than walking into a room and someone asking where they can get that thing you're wearing and replying with the words "oh, this thing? I made it myself". However my wardrobe is full (they tell me), and my bank account isn't, and I still have a thousand and one ideas for something better to wear than "sexy beach motorcycle club". And once I filter out all of them with copyrighted characters, etc, hopefully I'll be able to share these with you guys on Etsy so you'll be able to say.
"Oh this thing? I had it made *specially* for me".
Currently I'm collaborating with a company who I've used many times before for both individual and bulk print runs. They're really great, really ethical and it's an honour to support their business. I can attest to the quality of their work, and intend to work with them more.
My 2021 New Year's resolution is to see, uncynically, what I can make. If there's people out there who share my vision... and warped sense of humour... then I'll be able to get to grips with the ideas which are beyond the high street.
