Great size for the gear you will use(canteen, snacks, light, binoculars), and the gear you hope to not have to use (first aid kit, survival kit), with room to spare. I really like the hidden velcro pocket as well. 1000D is abrasion resistant as all get out. I would describe it as briar-proof. Love M81 pattern. Shipping was fast and securing packaged.
