Meet the Artist
Hi, I'm Margie. I'm the artist behind the work you see here. I work alone, designing and creating artistic handcrafted jewelry from my home studio in Ohio.
I received much of my formal training while I was in college (which at this point was quite a few years ago). I graduated with a bachelor of fine arts degree with an emphasis in metalsmithing from a small liberal arts college in Grand Rapids, MI. As an undergrad. student I had the opportunity to study abroad. It was during my metalsmithing courses in Florence, Italy, that I realized jewelry making was going to be "my thing" as an artist.
I love being creative, working with my hands and creating things that people love to wear.
I fabricate all of my jewelry from sheet metal and wire and work primarily with Sterling silver and gold. I also love to incorporate a variety of stones and gemstones into my work. I love using unique stones and have a soft spot for stones native to Northern Michigan.
My husband and I live in Toledo, Ohio with our four children (10 and under) and love spending time in Northern Michigan visiting family and enjoying the beauty, tranquility, and inspiration that Lake Michigan and the surrounding lakes have to offer. Northern Michigan is a piece of paradise for me and a place where I love to draw inspiration as an artist.
