About Me – The Heart Behind Moonshine & Glitter
Hi, I’m Crystal — the maker and creative heart behind Moonshine & Glitter, a small handmade business built on love, memories, and family. What started as a simple creative hobby has become both my passion and my outlet — a place of healing, reflection, and purpose during one of the hardest chapters of my life.
When my mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, everything changed. The neurologist suggested we find activities to help keep her mind active, so in 2021 we began creating earrings together. She loved pairing them up, organizing them by color, and carding each set with care. That first year, we made thousands of earrings — and even more priceless memories. We laughed, talked, and shared quiet moments that I now hold closer than anything. Those memories of working side by side are some of my most cherished blessings.
Today, my mom is no longer able to help, walk, or speak more than a word or two. The disease has taken so much from her — but it has also taught me the value of slowing down, of finding beauty in small things, and of creating from the heart. My work has become my outlet — the place where I pour all the emotions I can’t yet put into words. Every piece I make carries a piece of that love, grief, and gratitude.
I know my mom would be so proud of all the new creations that have come to life since those early days — the ornaments, layered shelf sitters, signs, and keepsakes that now fill my shop. They are reminders that love doesn’t fade — it simply changes form.
I ask that my customers please be patient and understanding. My family is my top priority, and there are times when unexpected challenges arise. I always strive to communicate and stay in contact, but I’m human — and sometimes life gets heavy.
