MaddTaggsStudio has "mad" in the name for a reason. I think perhaps this all started because my mind could never properly shut down and I could never be still. My father painted and sculpted and drew most of my childhood. I wanted to be like dad. I have painted and tried to draw. I have dabbled in a variety of arts as I am sure many in the Etsy community have. A few years after my son was born, I though I better try scrapbooking. While my efforts there did not go very far, I did discover a love of paper crafting and collaging. I also found painting to be very cathartic so I have painted furniture and lampshades. I have taken these ideas and a love for jewelry, and designed coastal and cottage inspired jewelry. It is like sharing small story with the world every time you wear one. Journaling tags and gift tags are like scrapbooking in miniature and I can produce many different ideas or emotions in a short time through my craft. So the title of my story is not necessarily all in jest. Professionally I have been in hospice and recently found myself out of work. With the support of my family I decided to pour everything I had into MaddTaggs and make it a reality. You know the saying, "when one door closes...." I am also an animal lover and live with a 15 yr old terrier mix named Foster and 3 top eared female ratties named, Emmie, Lucy and Ethel. I also live with two non furry family members, my boyfriend who tirelessly helps me scout out treasures for my creations and my son who combs the lakeside beaches for the very best pieces of driftwood. I feel blessed to be able to design and create. Seeing others wearing or enjoying those creations is icing on the cake. Please visit the shop and message me with any questions. Thank-you.
