Comencé mi tienda en abril de 2015. Se me acercó una organización local sin fines de lucro que conocía sobre cómo satisfacer una necesidad en la comunidad. Vivimos en el área de Huntington, WV. Hay muchas mujeres aquí que no tienen opciones de ganar dinero con dignidad. Lo que hacemos es dar clases a las mujeres, proporcionando los suministros y el espacio, y las mujeres hacen los artículos. Luego les ayudamos a vender los artículos en Etsy. Es una experiencia increíble. Cada artículo está hecho por una mujer de nuestra comunidad que necesita ayuda. Ellos se quedan con el 60% de las ganancias, y nosotros usamos el resto para gastos comerciales y suministros para la siguiente clase. Operamos desde el edificio sin fines de lucro en el centro de la ciudad, donde esperamos algún día tener una tienda y un espacio de aula comunitaria.

I started my shop in April of 2015. I was approached by a local nonprofit I knew about filling a need in the community. We live in the Huntington, WV area. There are many women here who have no options to make money with dignity. What we do is teach classes to the women, providing the supplies and the space, and the women make the items. We then help them sell the items on Etsy. It is such an incredible experience. Each item is made by a woman in our community who needs help. They get to keep 60% of the profit, and we use the rest for business expenses and supplies for the next class. We operate out of the non-profits building in the downtown area, where we hope to one day have a shop and a community classroom space.
