Hi, I’m Ingunn — mom of three, dog person, and the one making all these tiny pieces. I started making earrings because I couldn’t stand wearing most of them. They poked, irritated, and never stayed comfortable for long. So I made something better —

Frequently asked questions

What makes these earrings different?

These earrings are available in two styles: regular studs and a flatback system designed for extended wear.

Regular studs are a simple, traditional option for those who prefer a standard earring style. Silicone backers are included.

Flatback earrings sit flush against the ear with no sharp backs or poking, making them more comfortable for extended wear. You can leave the post in place and simply swap the fronts whenever you like — including switching to the comfort ball for sleeping or everyday wear.

What does “flatback” mean?

Flatback means the back of the earring sits flat against your ear instead of sticking out like a traditional stud.

This creates a smooth, low-profile fit that is often more comfortable for sleeping, headphones, and everyday wear.

What materials do you use?

All flatback posts are made from implant-grade titanium.
Regular studs are made from titanium with silicone backs.

The earring fronts are made from solid hardwood, hand-painted, and sealed with a protective satin finish.

Can I sleep or shower in them?

Sleeping, showering, or swimming with regular studs is not recommended.

Flatback posts, when used with the included comfort ball, are designed for sleeping, showering, and everyday wear.

The decorative wood fronts are not waterproof and should be removed before showering, swimming, or prolonged moisture exposure. For sleeping, it is recommended to swap to the comfort ball, as the wood fronts may become damaged during sleep.

Are the fronts interchangeable?

Yes. The flatback system allows you to leave the post in your ear and swap the fronts whenever you want.

Fronts from this shop are designed to work with 18g internally threaded posts using a 0.9 mm thread. They are compatible with the included posts and other professional-grade jewelry using the same threading, but may not fit all third-party jewelry.

Regular studs are a fixed style and are not interchangeable.

Are these good for sensitive ears?

All stud styles are made from titanium.
Flatback styles use certified implant-grade titanium jewelry components.

As with all jewelry, sensitivity varies from person to person, and no material can be guaranteed completely irritation-free for everyone.

Wear & care

Flatback posts are designed for extended wear, including sleep, showering, and everyday life.

Wooden tops should be removed before showering, swimming, or sleeping to keep them looking their best and to help avoid damage over time.

Use the included comfort ball fronts when you want a secure, low-profile option for comfort.
