5 out of 5 starsMessaged the shop owner needing a specialty mask/ear protection for my mom’s Nigerian dwarf goat that had her ear ripped off by a ferral dog and wanted to protect her ear canal. She made suggestions and asked specifics and made a product that works perfect! So thankful!

5 out of 5 starsThis is the second fly mask I have purchased for my sweet sheep, and it has been a real life saver for her through the dreaded summer fly season. I plan to purchase more! Good quality and the fleece edges allow for a comfortable adjustable fit. Highly recommend!

5 out of 5 starsQuality item- but was not happy with delayed shipping and having to pay an extra $20 to get it sooner- still delayed. Had an alpaca with an eye infection and needed it quickly.

I'm a long time horse owner & breeder, I started selling items to supplement my horse budget. After several false starts, a friend gave me her Mask pattern she once used for her Arabians. A few alterations and additional sizes, I was off and running!

Frequently asked questions
What does the SF% mean?
SF stands for Shade Factor. The higher the percentage is, the denser the weave is. SF70% is similar to the standard weave used by the Farnam company and another mass producers. SF80% is the densest weave to put on a horse that has vision. This type of mask is excellent for those that are sensitive to sunburn, but it should NOT be worn at night! All SF% provide excellent fly protection and shade against the sun.
What is SP70% mesh like?
SP70% - This mesh is the same as used for the popular mass-produced horse fly masks. Known for durability, visibility, fly and sun protection, this is the goto density for the average animal, especially if you plan to leave the mask on 24/7.
What is the SP75% mesh like?
SP75% - This mesh, while a bit harder to see through, is still safe in most situations if your animal requires 24/7 protection. It provides more sun protection for those animals that are susceptible to sunburn or smaller insects like gnats or mosquitoes. It is the perfect protection for pink skin and blue eyes.
What is the SP80% mesh like and who is it for?
SP80% - This durable mesh is the densest advisable for use on a sighted animal. IT SHOULD ONLY BE USED IN WELL LIT SITUATIONS, AS IN SUNLIGHT OR A LIT BARN. This is an excellent solution to sighted animals that need extra eye, dust, and sun protection. it is also excellent to use during travel, shows, or anywhere where the lights stay on after dark. It helps animals rest. This mesh should not be used in dark situations. This is NOT the recommended mesh for use in a 24/7 pasture situation.
What is the difference between Blind, L-Eye Blind, and R-Eye Blind?
The Blind Mesh is a extremely durable, yet airy and comfortable dense mesh which is perfect for providing a protection barrier and reducing shadow distractions and injury to blind, nearly blind, and injured eyes. This mesh can also be limited to cover one eye with the regular eye covered by the SF70% or SF75% percent mesh. For the one-sided blind mask, just indicate the BLIND eye when placing your order.
How do I put the mask on?
For my regular masks - Horse and livestock - the band with the label goes on top of the head behind the ears, and the other band goes around the nose. The band on top should be loose enough so the mask goes around the base of the ears before rising up over the eyes. At no time should the mask touch the eyes or even the whiskers or eyelashes. and the edges of the bands (not the velcro) should at least meet if not overlap. The nose of the mask should ideally be on the bridge of the nose, but it is okay to be slightly above or below it. The mask should be loose enough to slide a FLAT hand between it and the side of the animal's face. Once the mask is fitted, trim the velcro! Contact me if you are still having difficulties.
The Velcro is no longer sticking like it used to. What do I do?
It's time to clean your Velcro. The hook side can fill with hair, fur, and hay which can reduce its ability to hold on to the loop side.
The best technique for cleaning large sections of hook and loop is to comb the debris out from the hooks. There are many objects suitable for combing hook and loop including pins, needles, staples, hairbrushes etc, even the serrated metal strip on a tape dispenser.
Whichever tool you choose to comb with, the cleaning technique is straightforward. Pull the comb through the hooks in a direction parallel to the hook rows. This should remove most of the debris. Remove the remaining debris by combing the hooks at 90 degrees to the original combing direction. This should restore your Velcro's grip.
