MainImageCards
Family and friends have always enjoyed receiving greeting cards that I made for them. I was often told, "You should sell your cards." I didn't really think that would be possible until a friend encouraged me to open an Etsy store. On August 18, 2014 I did, and here I am.
My work space is located within my home. The area is not very big, but it's very functional. One might describe it as a little messy – but in a good way. Sure I sometimes have papers, markers, and stamps scattered all over my desk but, I know exactly where everything is and it’s organized so that there’s a space for everything. I keep similar supplies together so that when I need a particular thing or two, I’ll be able to find it quickly.
The supplies that I use are all high quality and, whenever possible, made in the U.S.A. That’s why I use products from Hero Arts, Tim Holtz, and Ranger. Nearly all of the stamps and inks that I use are made by them. I also like to use paper made by the company My Mind’s Eye. They have designs that are very appealing. And they’re also made in the U.S.A.
All of the work that is done to create my greeting cards is by me. Maybe one day my shop will be popular enough so that I can hire employees. For the time being, it’s just little ol’ me!
My brand is unique since many of my card ideas come straight from my imagination. No one else thinks like I do. I like to play around with unique color and pattern combinations. If I’m using an embellishment on a card, a button, for example, I might alter it by painting it or by using embossing powder on it. Sometimes “straight out of the package” just doesn’t work for me. It’s not unusual for me to take a standard embellishment and paint it.
What inspires me? Colors inspire me, especially the colors of nature. I love a beautiful sunset, cloud formations, the ocean, flowers, leaves, blades of grass. All of those things get my creative juices flowing. Many of my card layouts are original but I also get inspiration from other handmade card makers and from websites which host card making challenges, such as on the Splitcoast Stampers website. Tim Holtz, Ranger, and Hero Arts product websites also give me lots of inspiration.
Custom orders are welcome – and encouraged. If a customer wants a card done a certain way, I will do everything I can within reason to make it so. I offer a large selection of ready made cards in my shop. Each listing shows a full description of the process as well as photos. My shop policies describe payment options, shipping, and my refund and exchanges policies.
I hope you enjoy MainImageCards. Please visit my shop, check out my cards, and buy often!
